You KNOW you like music -- a song -- when you appreciate (and feel) all the little things about it. Not just the words. Not just the loudest melody. If you can concentrate on the bass line, on the quiet, barely noticeable harmony which gently adds to the environment evoked through the song; if you can love just these things --individually as well as combined-- you know you love and feel the music.
It has become part of you. For the few minutes (or hours, if you repeat the song time and again) you and the song are one.
